Summer Hockey School

Miami Hockey School is committed to operating its summer camp program with the same professionalism and pride that is applied to the Miami University Ice Hockey Program. A detailed, organized, challenging, safe, and fun atmosphere is why Miami Hockey School continues to be a national leader in the camp industry. We have an experienced and passionate staff to ensure your hockey player has a positive experience. Miami Hockey School has been providing innovative and top-notch hockey instruction to players from across the country for over 40 years, and our extraordinarily high rate of return campers is a testament to our staff and campers' commitment to excellence.

Miami Hockey School’s goals are to provide a safe camp atmosphere, help hockey players improve on and off the ice, and provide an overall camp experience you won’t get anywhere else. We offer 4 boys’ programs and 2 girls’ programs. Each camp builds on one another which keeps the camp fresh for those who return.

  • On-ice activities include skating, skills, small area games, and daily scrimmages. Each session is run by 2 or 3 of our head and goalie coaches (check out the staff page) along with 2-3 team coaches. We strive to have a 7:1 coach-to-player ratio while on the ice. Our quality coaches have the experience to develop drills and sessions that cater to the age and level of the campers attending.
  • Off-ice hockey sessions such as dry land sessions, video replay, and classroom sessions are every bit as important as the on-ice session. Miami Hockey School has a dedicated classroom coach who will critique all skating sessions during video replay. The classroom coach will also run chalk talk sessions drawing and explaining options for play in all three zones.
  • Other off-ice sessions include the pool and indoor soccer and basketball at Miami University’s Recreational Sports Center, team building, physical testing, and additional cross-training.
  • Goalies continue to receive an additional goalie-specific ice session Monday-Thursday along with specialized coaching throughout the week.

The staff of Miami Hockey School and Miami University’s Ice Hockey team looks forward to seeing you this summer and providing you with not only top-notch hockey instruction but an overall camp experience you won’t get anywhere else.

The family and parents of Hockey School participants are welcome to stay at the Marcum Hotel and Conference Center, our convenient, on-campus hotel.
